How Low Lake Capacity Has Fallen In 1 Year

The lack of rain has taken a toll on lake levels. The latest numbers comparing the capacity of area water reservoirs is not promising.

There are three main water districts covering the Metroplex.  Below you can see the current capacity of each system.

BIG DROP FROM LAST YEAR

There has been a big drop in water storage compared to last year at this time.  Below you can see last year's capacity compared to today.

CURRENT LAKE LEVELS

  • Lake Bridgeport is down nearly 18 feet.  The lake is only 50% full.
  • Lake Lewisville has lost 37 billion gallons of water in the past year.
  • Hubbard Creek Reservoir in Stephens County is more than 20 feel down and only 25% full.
