HOUSTON (AP) - Some drivers in Houston have been getting a pleasant surprise during traffic stops this holiday season.

Instead of writing tickets to people they have pulled over for traffic violations, Houston police officers have been giving away money.

Officers have been distributing $100 bills to 100 unsuspecting motorists during traffic stops.

The police department says a "Secret Santa" donated $10,000 to help people in need this holiday season.

Police say they will distribute the private donation to motorists until all the money has been given away.
