This is the graphic worth a thousand warnings. Its the SPC Tornado Risk today:

The SPC has responded in unprecented ways warning the the public about this upcoming outbreak. It had started yesterday with their outlook for Saturday:

The warm moist area air feeding this tornado outbreak is moving right over north Texas. Expect south winds 20-30mph all afternoon with gusts over 40mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of our area to 7pm. Highs will be in the lower 80' with a little sunshine by mid-day on.  It is possible a few storms could develop in the daytime heating but the chance is a mere 10%.

It is after midnight that the high storm risk enters in from the west/northwest into north Texas.

We'll be in the CBS11 Storm Center through the night monitoring the radar for severe weather. The highest threat will be from damaging winds and large hail with isolated tornadoes. This could unfold to flooding event as well by mid-morning tomorrow.

Late tonight and tomorrow morning there is going to be severe weather in north Texas. Our coverage will include constant updates on this blog as well as our Twitter accounts: CBS11Larry, CBS11Garry, CBS11jeffrey. On our station crawls will run at the bottom of the screen  and we will break into programming if conditions warrant.

Less than a dozen days a year are like this in north Texas. We are expecting severe weather and strongly urge you to follow the weather tonight and through the day tomorrow. Be certain to check on the weather when you awake on Sunday morning before you head out.

This severe weather threat ends by Monday when we start a run of pleasant weather, highs in the 70's with sunny skies. It's just going to be a rough journey to get there.
