H-E-B to open first Denton store; construction to begin this spring, company says
H-E-B is coming to Denton.
The grocery store chain, with over 435 stores in Texas and Mexico, plans to open its first store in the North Texas city of nearly 170,000.
H-E-B plans to build the store on a site exceeding 20 acres at the northwest corner of Interstate 35W and Robson Ranch Road within Hillwood's Landmark development, according to the company.
Construction is slated to begin this spring, although the property purchase must still be finalized. Additional details will be released at a groundbreaking ceremony on a soon-to-be-determined date, the company said.
"This is a rapidly growing area, and we are excited to introduce this new H-E-B store to Denton and surrounding towns," said Mabrie Jackson, managing director of public affairs for H-E-B and Central Market. "We look forward to meeting our new neighbors and sharing more details soon."
H-E-B, which celebrates its 120th anniversary this year, employs over 160,000 workers and has sales of more than $46 billion, serving customers in more than 300 communities, the company said.
