Heavy Rains Return

We awake this Thursday to cloudy skies and light rain. There are no watches or warnings in effect.

Storms are back in the forecast today. They'll be more scattered in nature through the day. The upper-level low that fired up the storms yesterday has moved up into Oklahoma:

We'll keep storm chances hovering around 30%-40% across the day. The good news is that 90 degree weather takes a breather for a couple of days. We'll be in the low 80's today, mid-80's tomorrow.

That upper-level low should move back over north Texas tonight. This means the return of heavy rain and strong thunderstorms for the overnight hours into Friday morning.

What develops overnight will be sliding down to the south by Friday mid-morning. We'll keep a 30% chance of storms in the forecast, most of this activity will be in the morning. Daytime heating should be enough to get a few storms going but they'll be isolated across north Texas.

By this week hot and dry weather returns to our area. We'll be in the low 90's Saturday and Sunday. Highs will get into the upper 90's by early next week!
