Heavy Rain Overnight into Saturday Morning
As Larry has been advertising all week, we got our cold front today. Temperatures have dropped off dramatically from this morning. Now it's time to bring in the rain. It will be widespread overnight into Saturday morning, with some heavy downpours and the chance for a few strong thunderstorms in our eastern counties Saturday morning.
The steady rain will arrive overnight from west to east.
Our far eastern and southeastern counties will have a chance to see some stronger storms, as they will be on the warm side of the front with more instability.
Rain should come to an end by mid to late morning as the system pushes east.
Rainfall amounts will be heaviest in our northeastern and eastern counties through Saturday morning...with some locations picking up over two inches of rainfall!
Again the severe weather risk is mainly well east of Dallas for late tonight into Saturday morning. The strongest risk for tornadic storms will be in Lousiana and Arkansas during the day on Saturday. A few storms could produce quarter size hail and/or strong winds in the SLIGHT RISK area early Saturday.
It will be cold and breezy for Sunday and generally cool heading into Christmas Day. No precipitation is expected after tomorrow.
