Heat Advisory Today

A Heat Advisory is in effect until 7:00pm today for the metroplex. We are expecting feel-like temperatures to reach up to 105°-107°. Please take care of yourself if working outdoors and double check the back seats as you get in and out of your vehicle.

A weak cold front is coming through this afternoon, it'll fire up a few thunderstorms. But its a weak front; coverage of the storms will be modest and it'll have little effect in dropping temperatures. The storms chance is around 20% (and that's generous)

This small chance represents about our only chance of rain over the next seven days. We start August tomorrow with some very hot temperatures and dry weather.  We end July with a slight deficit of rainfall, this makes 11 of the last 13 months of below normal rainfall:

The hot start to August is going to significantly increase our 100° count. We could double the current number of 100° - or - more days at DFW over the next seven days:
