Healthy Rainfall Amounts Over the Weekend
We had widespread rain over North Texas this past weekend giving all residents at least 1" of rain. Many locations saw 2 to 4" of rain since Friday. Here's a exhaustive list compiled by the National Weather Service of rainfall amounts.
The rainfall did put a big dent in our drought, but did not end it altogether. It went a long way to moisten up our soils. The water from the rain was soaked up by a parched land, but not as much made it into our lakes or reservoirs. Most of the lakes have filled up a bit more over the weekend. Some have really gone up, such as Lake Arlington and Lake Worth.
Some lakes didn't have a chance to fill up at all...even worse the lake capacities dropped at Granbury Lake and Possum Kingdom Lake since late last month.
