Happy Thanksgiving: What I'm Thankful For

This is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Not just because of the turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, and deserts that put on pounds, but being with family and friends we love and be thankful for the blessings bestowed on us. Here are a few things I am thankful for:
1. I'm thankful for good health. You cannot buy it. You have to be blessed with it and then it's up to us to maintain it the best we can.
2. I'm thankful for my family. They are always there for me and even when duty calls at CBS11/TXA21 at times other than the normal business day, they never complain. My wife used to work in a 24 hour/7 day a week profession years ago and one son is an Army officer so they know.
3. I'm thankful for my colleagues at CBS11 & TXA21. I have worked in the TV business since 1978 and I can tell you that the staff here is second to none anywhere in the country.
4. I'm thankful for CBS. Since 1927 when William S. Paley bought a group of fledgling radio stations (against the advice of his friends and family), he created the finest broadcast and entertainment company known in the history of mankind. If Mr. Paley were alive today, I think he would be proud at what CBS Corporation has become 87 years after its founding.
5. I'm thankful that I love what I do. Even when days get a little tough, I get up in the morning and look forward to coming to work. Unfortunately so many people dislike their profession.
6. I'm thankful for our advertisers, the Network, and our syndicated programming suppliers. They are everything to us and to me.
7. I'm thankful for our viewers. Even when they tell me what they don't like (and at times very direct), we need to hear from them, good or bad.
