Hamilton's Groin Injury Getting Worse

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Texas Rangers star Josh Hamilton says his lingering groin injury is getting a bit worse.

The slumping slugger strained his left groin about two months ago. He says that if this were the regular season, he'd probably be on the disabled list right now.

Hamilton spoke Thursday before Game 2 of the World Series against St. Louis. He went 0 for 4 in the opener as Texas lost 3-2 to the Cardinals.

The reigning AL MVP has not hit a home run in this postseason. He's batting .267 with seven RBIs in these playoffs and World Series.
