Hamilton On Triple Crown Pace After Big Week
ARLINGTON (AP) - The numbers for Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton are just mind-boggling.
After what might have been the best week ever in baseball, there will now be talk about the single-season home run record. Or maybe the Triple Crown, something as rare as his four-homer game.
As a new week started Monday, Hamilton was leading the major leagues with a .402 batting average, 18 home runs and 44 RBIs. He had nine homers and 18 RBIs the past seven days.
The Rangers (23-12) have the American League's best record.
Hamilton says his approach is just to try to have a good game every day. Those good days are adding up in a big way for Hamilton, who can be a free agent for the first time after this season.
