In 1989 after a Garland Police officer fell in the line of duty, Garland Police Lieutenant Dave Swavey searched for a way to give support to the family. The non-profit foundation Guns and Hoses of Texas was born.
"We started raising funds and were able to contribute $5000 to the families of the fallen first responders. We've since raised it to $10,000 and with the partnership with Operation Blue Shield we are going to raise it again" said Retired Garland Police Lieutenant Dave Swavey.
Guns and Hoses is a non-profit and is set up to directly help the families of first responders, immediately, when a crisis occurs. Businesses and individuals alike can help with just a few clicks.
