Grass Fire Threatens Homes In Kaufman County
COMBINE (CBSDFW.COM) – Firefighters have doused the majority of a grass fire that consumed three homes in the Kaufman County town of Combine this afternoon.
Homeowners near Jimmy Lane Road were evacuated and no injuries were reported, said Kaufman County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Pat Laney.
Volunteer Fire Departments around Kaufman County responded to the blaze, which started at about 1:30 p.m. four miles southeast of Seagoville. Investigators are unsure how the fire started, but fire fighters had soaked the flames and were putting out hotspots by about 4:15 p.m.
