Government Getting Involved In Bullying Case

The government is getting involved in the investigation into the Birdville School District's handling of bullying accusations.
Although there have been a number of complaints, the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights will be looking specifically at the case of one 12 year-old who says he was harassed and even physically assaulted.  Stacy Dorman and her partner Debi Ellison tell CBS-11 they're glad there'll be a federal investigation in addition to the one the Birdville school district has already launched.
The Title-9 investigation will look into whether the district properly reacted to the family's claims that Caine Smith was taunted and sexually harassed.  The district says it's received a request for information from the Department of Education, and a spokesman says all documents requested will be turned over in a timely manner.  However, that same spokesman says they never received any sexual harassment claims from Smith's guardians.
