Good Samaritans Try Saving Woman After Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — Good Samaritans in Fort Worth attempted to lend a helping hand after a fatal car crash near the DFW Airport on Sunday.

Witnesses say they heard yelling from a truck that had careened into a ditch off U.S. Route 183.

The Good Samaritans ran to the driver's side to find a man and a woman. They immediately pulled the man out. By the time they went back to save the woman, the truck caught fire. They reportedly attempted pulling her to safety, but the fire was too intense.

The 43-year-old woman died on the scene. Her name has not been released.

The driver is facing intoxication manslaughter charges. Police have identified him as 43-year-old Juan Salinas. He was transported to a local hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition.
