Glenn Heights Police Officer Struck By Car

ELLIS COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A Glenn Heights police officer was struck by a car and injured in the line of duty Wednesday evening.
The officer was transported by air ambulance to a trauma center with a serious head injury.
The officer, whose name hasn't been released, was stopped, dealing with a traffic accident around 8:15 p.m. The passing vehicle struck him, knocking him into a ditch.
The officer is a 15 year police veteran.
The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and police say because of that it is unlikely charges will be filed.
Police sealed off East Ovilla Road while they investigated the incident.
As of 10:15 p.m. the officer was in serious condition.
