Gas Prices Up A Penny Across Texas

HOUSTON (AP) - Retail gasoline prices have gone up a penny this week across Texas.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average cost per gallon was $3.48. The nationwide price at the pump rose 2 cents, to reach $3.65 per gallon this week.

The association says Amarillo has the most expensive gasoline, at $3.58 per gallon. The least expensive gasoline, in the group's weekly survey, was found in Houston, at $3.43 per gallon.

Market analysts say there's an expectation that a weaker global economy will demand less oil. Hurricane concerns have also kept upward pressure on retail gasoline prices.
