IRVING (AP) - Retail gasoline prices have risen sharply across Texas after months of declines.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump rose by 13 cents, settling at $1.98 per gallon.

The national average for unleaded is $2.15 per gallon.

The most expensive gasoline this week in Texas was in Dallas and Fort Worth at $2 per gallon. San Antonio has the cheapest at $1.92.

AAA says gas prices have increased due to a combination of refinery maintenance and upgrades in the Midwest and because crude oil prices are trading at more stable levels.
