IRVING (AP) - Retail gasoline prices across Texas continue to fall, with the per-gallon cost dropping two cents over the last week.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average statewide unleaded price at the pump is now $3.09. The price has fallen by a nickel over the last two weeks.

The statewide average is 16 cents less per gallon than the national average of $3.25.

Of the metro areas in Texas surveyed by AAA, drivers in Dallas are paying the most at $3.12 and drivers in Amarillo continue to pay the least at $2.89.

Retail gas prices nationwide generally moved lower following the end of the summer driving season in September due to plentiful supplies, flat demand and falling crude oil prices.
