IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - The Cowboys have called a 4pm press conference today and right now it appears this will be the Jason Garrett post season wrap up presser with the looming question of removing the "interim" tag possibly lingering into the end of the week.

It is hard to imagine that Garrett and the Cowboys have come to terms on a new deal so swiftly but crazier things have happened here in the past.  Garrett is now in an enviable position as he has some leverage with the 5-3 finish, and the possibility that he could field inquiries from other teams as head coaches get canned today.  So far, that has only been Eric Mangini at Cleveland, but several others might be making decisions as we speak.

Other questions that will follow if Garrett is the choice...What assistants are staying and going? Is Paul Pasqualoni the right man for the job of defensive coordinator?  Valley Ranch sources indicate that if Garrett stays, there will only be a smattering of changes at other assistant positions. More on this later as we count down to 4pm.
