FORT WORTH (CBSDFW) - The city of Fort Worth tells CBS 11 that a brand new, multi-million dollar, district 6 Police Headquarters is completely funded and ready for the next phase of development in Far North Fort Worth.

The city hopes to decrease the growing response times our CBS 11 investigations uncovered in July. Some areas were waiting an average of 12 minutes for police to arrive.

"If you do need any kind of emergency help, the only thing that's close by is the fire station", said Julie Davis.

Davis moved to the area a few years back to start a family. It's an area that has seen many others just like her and grown too quickly for police to keep up.

"If you need the police, you have to wait a lot longer," Davis said.

No date or location has been set for the District 6 Headquarters, but two locations have been mentioned as possible sites off of 35 at Heritage Trace Parkway and Tarrant Parkway.
