FORT WORTH (CBS11) – 9-year-old D.J. Flores is out to make sure homeless women in Fort Worth know they are loved and thought of.

Acting on his wish, the 4th grader and his mother have begun to hand out what they call, "Love in Packs."

They are old purses re-purposed as bags carrying goodies and basic essentials for those living out on the streets.

Flores said, "It makes me feel happy about myself and how I am helping others."

The 4th grader says he got the idea to help women after researching homelessness and learning women are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.

About his gesture to give back he added, "My message is that you are no to little that you can't do big things."
