Forecast Discussion for Monday, May 2

RAIN ENDS THIS EVENING…

After much needed rain fell across North Texas, the end is in sight.  The rain will taper off from west to east this evening and overnight.  The rain has ended for areas west of Fort Worth, but will linger over areas along and east of I-35 for the next several hours.  Eventually the rain will all shift eastward away from North Texas leaving partly cloudy skies and a chilly night.

RECORD COLD POSSIBLE TONIGHT…

As the rain and clouds start to depart overnight.  Temperatures will drop into the low 40s and upper 30s.  The record low for tomorrow morning is 41 degrees set back in 1954.  Right now I am forecasting a low of 41 degrees.  Not much wind tonight, but it will be chilly to start our Tuesday.

PLEASANT WEATHER FOR MOST OF THE WEEK…

After such a stormy week last week, this week is shaping up to be rather calm.  Sunny skies will be with us the next several days.  It will be pleasantly cool in the morning and then pleasant in the afternoon.  Temperatures will start to warm back up for the weekend with highs back around 90 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  At this point it doesn't look like we will have any rain chances in the forecast for the rest of the week as all disturbances and fronts will stay to our north.
