FORT WORTH (CBS11) – CBS 11 Weather Authority Meteorologists are calling for heavy rain throughout North Texas starting on Thursday and going into the weekend.
The warning has now set off major flood concerns for neighbors in one Fort Worth neighborhood prone to flooding.
Those who live off of Carleton street and Bryce Avenue in the city's Arlington Heights neighborhood say every time heavy rain falls they can expect a flood.
Cheryl Schumacher who recorded video of a vicious deluge that caused a flood earlier this year said, "It's a little disheartening the volume that they are saying," about the estimates of rain for the weekend. Weather experts say some areas could get up to 6 inches of rain.
The city of Fort Worth has already started a street improvement project in the Arlington Heights neighborhood with the purpose of alleviating flood waters, but that work is nowhere near done.
Now neighbors on Carleton street are hoping the work those crews have done so far is enough to save them from another flood.
Schumacher added, "Nothing else has been done. It's the only hope we have."
