Flirting With A Warm Front

TODAY

It's the front that settled just southwest of the Metroplex overnight.  The front lifts back northeastward to bring small rain chances during the first part of the day with an isolated storm possible for western parts of North Texas before the noon hour.  As the front pushes into the northeast counties of North Texas by late afternoon, skies will become partly cloudy but areas like Bonham, Paris and Sulphur Springs will get a 20 percent chance for pop up storms with brief gusty winds and lightning possible.  Overall, expect dry, breezy and warm hours.  High 82.  Winds:  SE 10-20 mph.  Rain chance 20 percent.

TONIGHT

Partly cloudy skies then becoming cloudy by sunrise.  Breezy and mild.  Low 65.  Winds:  SE 5-15 mph.  Rain chance less than 10 percent.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Are looking like almost carbon copies of each other.  Both days start cloudy and as the clouds dissipate, temps heat to near 80 with gusty south winds.  Pop up storms are possible across much of North Texas between 3PM – 7 PM especially the western half of North Texas.  While a severe storm is possible for extreme western areas of North Texas, not much of a severe threat exists for most of North Texas until Sunday.  High 80-83.  Winds:  S 15-25 mph.  Rain chance 30 percent.

SUNDAY

Again cloudy skies expected with showers likely during church services.  Afternoon storms will develop across much of North Texas with a focus initially along the I-35 corridor and then pushing into eastern areas during the evening.  Severe storms are possible with large hail, damaging winds and frequently light.  Locally heavy rainfall and consequent flash flooding is also possible.  High 78.  Winds:  S 15-25 mph.  Rain chance 70 percent.

MONDAY

The timing now looks like the showers and storms will push east by the early morning hours.  If this holds true, we won't have rain chances and skies will become sunny with mild temps in the 70s.  Right now, going to still hold on to a morning chance for showers and storms mainly for the eastern half of North Texas with the Metroplex possible just dodging the rain.  High 76.  Winds:  NNW 10-20 mph.  Rain chance 50 percent.
