First Rain Of December Coming Friday?
DALLAS/FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.com) The powerful storm system that is once again bringing flooding rain to California will track over North Texas on Friday. This will mean our first good rain chance of the month. So far this month there has been no rain reported at DFW Airport.
Starting Thursday evening and night, light rain will develop across the area. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be with us Friday morning into the afternoon on Friday. Rain coverage should be rather high around 70%. Some areas will see more than 1.00" of rain on Friday. The rain will move off to the east Friday evening and night. Some wrap around cloud cover will likely linger into Saturday morning with a few areas of light rain still possible mainly east on Christmas Day.
COLD WEATHER HERE TO STAY…
After record highs Monday and Tuesday, the cold weather will be with us the rest of the week into next week. Highs Wednesday have only been in the low 50s. Tomorrow highs will be near 50 degrees and on Friday temperatures will stay in the 40s all day.
COLD WEEKEND…
Skies will clear on Christmas Day but it will be cold with morning temperatures in the mid 30s and afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
Sunday will be very cold in the morning with temperatures in the mid 20s to start the day and then warming only into the 40s in the afternoon despite lots of sunshine.
Monday morning will once again start in the 20s with highs in the 40s. Tuesday will be slightly warmer with highs near 50. Another rain chance arrives on Wednesday of next week.
