Feeling Like Fall this Weekend and Watching the Tropics

A muggy day across North Texas.  Temperatures have climbed into the upper 80s this afternoon with high humidity.  There have been a few isolated showers mainly east of Dallas.

LOOPING RADAR

That small rain chance will continue thru about 8pm.

TOMORROW will be another hot and muggy day with temperatures climbing into the low 90s.  I don't expect any showers tomorrow but I can't rule out a few sprinkles and drizzle especially in the morning.

WATCHING THE TROPICS

A large area of disturbed weather between the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba has a really good chance of becoming a tropical depression or a tropical storm.  The next name on the list is Karen.  The movement of this system will take it into the Central Gulf and then likely toward the Florida Panhandle this weekend.  This would bring heavy rain to parts of the southeast.

FORECAST MODEL TRACKS

POTENTIAL RAINFALL

HERE COMES FALL

The cold front drawn on the above maps is the front that arrives here in North Texas early Saturday morning.  There will be the chance of a few showers and isolated thunderstorms during the morning on Saturday, but it will be the temperatures that catch everyone's attention.

I expect temperatures to drop into the 50s right behind the front by mid to late morning on Saturday and then if we see some sunshine warm into the low 70s in the afternoon.

If you have soccer games or other outdoor events Saturday, be sure to grab the coats and jackets.  It hasn't felt this cold since May.

Sunday morning temperatures will drop into the mid 50s in Dallas, but many areas will drop into the 40s!
