Father Faces Charge After Daughter Fatally Shot In Killeen

KILLEEN, Texas (AP) — A 27-year-old man is charged with manslaughter after authorities say his 3-year-old daughter was fatally shot over the weekend.

The Killeen Police Department says Ashton Blake Salvato's bond has been set at $1 million. It wasn't immediately clear if he has an attorney.

The department says officers found the girl Saturday afternoon after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers performed CPR on the child before she was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Authorities say further information will be released as it becomes available.
