JOHNSON COUNTY (CBSDFW) - A father and his daughter were taken into custody last week after a bank robbery and lengthy chase that reached speeds of 150 mph.

Michael Dwayne Bailey, 41 was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Evading. The daughter, Megan Lynn Bailey, 19 was charged with Aggravated Robbery.

Bailey appeared for the first time today in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge David L. Horan. According to U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas, Bailey has now been charged with committing a takeover-style, armed robbery of the Grandview Bank.

According to the complaint filed last week, a man wearing a Texas Longhorns baseball cap, sunglasses, black leather jacket, dark glasses, entered the Grandview Bank located at 105 East Criner Street. He approached a teller, who noticed he was wearing a dark bandana over the lower half of his face, pointed a handgun at the teller, and demanded money.

In fear for her life, the teller froze. The robber climbed on the counter and through the teller window and pointed the handgun directly at the teller's face, and repeated his demand.  Again, fearing for her life, the teller began withdrawing cash from her cash drawer, and the robber reached into the drawer and began grabbing money.  The teller handed the money to the robber who took all of it and ran out of the bank. By this time, other bank employees had called 911. An observer saw the robber run to a red, two-door coupe with disabled veteran plates and notified law enforcement.

Acting on the tip, an officer with the Alvarado Police Officer caught up with the robber and activated his red and blue lights and siren, signaling the robber to stop, but the robber did not pull over.  Instead, a high-speed pursuit ensued, and officers from several police agencies joined the Alvarado Police Department.  They pursued the robber to Mansfield, and during the pursuit, the robber drove on the wrong side of the road on I-35 and onto the shoulder before ultimately blowing a tire.

At the time of his arrest, Bailey fit the description of the robber and was wearing the same clothes as the ones described on the 911 call.

Officers were able to locate the exact amount of cash stolen in the robbery in Megan Bailey's purse.

Michael Dwayne Bailey faces up to 25 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
