FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A Fort Worth family says despite an X-Ray which showed a clear case of bleeding in the brain, a misdiagnosis cost a mother of two her life.

Jeff Stingley says his wife Kristy suffered a seizure at their home in December 2013 and was rushed to Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. While there she was told she simply had a sinus infection and migraine headache. Hours later she suffered another seizure, and died.

The family's lawyer Les Weisbrod says an X-Ray clearly shows that bleeding in the brain was the cause of the seizures and with the right diagnosis, Kristy could have easily been treated and could still be alive today.

Weisbrod filed a lawsuit on behalf of the family and is hoping that cases that this and others will change Texas laws that protect doctors from malpractice suits.
