15-Year-Old Girl Shot, Killed Near Everman; Authorities Looking For Boyfriend

TARRANT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A 15-year-old girl was shot and killed by her boyfriend in Fort Worth, near Everman, Saturday afternoon, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say the shooting happened in the 5400 block of Wilson Road.

Authorities are looking for 18-year-old Sebastian Ramirez-Barcenas as a person of interest in the fatal shooting. He is described as a white male wearing a blue sweater with a denim jean cap and a red backpack.

"What appears to have happened was the person of interest, Sebastian, was handling the weapon, and the weapon went off," said Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office says a shotgun was used, but it was not brought to the home by the boyfriend. They do not believe the boyfriend is armed and dangerous.

Authorities say there's a chance the boyfriend may have mishandled the shotgun.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Makayla Davis.

The 15-year-old's family didn't want to go on camera, saying the loss is too fresh.

"Obviously, they are very distraught. They're dealing with a lot of grief and just figure out the why's. This is a very awful situation," said Sheriff Waybourn.
