October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Dyslexia is the most common language-based learning disability that makes recognizing words, writing and spelling difficult. A student with undiagnosed dyslexia, or lacking the appropriate accommodations, can become frustrated and develop low self-esteem. There are many interventions that can help your child succeed in school, and resources for parents to navigate the school system.
