Drought Gets Worse In North Texas
The latest Drought Monitor has been released and the drought continues to get worse across the state.

From above you can see how the drought has expanded back into the eastern part of the state over the past year. This includes the DFW area where we are currently in a severe drought.

Rainfall deficits vary from city to city but below you can see how far behind we are on rainfall so far this year.
The drought has improved across much of the Central Plains and Midwest this year. Here is nice animation showing the improvement of the drought this year.

No rain in the forecast until the end of next week as a very weak cold front arrives. Temperatures will ease a little by the end of next week but it will still be hot.
