DFW Runway Changes Will Things Noisier In Tarrant County

Things are about to get noisier in northeast Tarrant County.  DFW Airport has closed it's main north/south runway on the west side.  David Magana at DFW says that means a shift to the diagnol runway that brings planes in over Southlake. The closed runway normally handles  from 200 to 300 landings a day.
Southlake Mayor John Terrell expects the rise in landing planes, but says the airport does a good job of fielding complaints.  He says the impact should be minimal.  The runway shift comes as DFW repaves a runway through the end of August.
