COLLIN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A vehicle struck a pedestrian around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on US 380 just east of FM 1827 near McKinney.

DPS says a pedestrian was walking east on US 380 and attempted to cross the traffic lanes. The pedestrian was struck by a westbound SUV.

The driver of the SUV stopped and first responders were notified. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was not seriously injured.

As of 9:00 p.m. traffic continues to be rerouted and all lanes of US 380 are closed for the investigation.
