DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — DART is investigating a crash that killed a bus driver Friday night.

DART officials say there were no passengers on the bus when it crashed on I-45 southbound on the I-30 ramp just before Second Avenue around 11:30 p.m. The initial investigation indicates the bus ran off the road and hit a concrete pillar.

The driver, who died at the scene, was on the way back to the bus barn when it happened.

The driver's identity has not been released.
