Dangerous Heat Now...Easing a Bit This Weekend
The HEAT ADVISORY will expire Thursday evening. This doesn't mean it is going to be cool after Thursday...just "less hot". Temperatures should come down enough by Friday and the weekend that an official advisory won't be needed.
High temperatures on Thursday will once again be brutal across our area with the majority of reading above 105° again. Areas north & west of the Metroplex will flirt with 110° or 111°. Protect yourself, your children and your pets!! Check on your elderly and disadvantaged neighbors too. The cumulative effect of this intense heat can be crippling.
The big high pressure system should weaken enough Friday thru the weekend that high temperatures will be closer to 100° rather than 105°. Sad when that is good news. The high will relocate over the Western U.S. next week which may help push a weak cold front toward the Red River valley Monday. This could trigger a storm or two and give us a few more clouds...thus temperature could hold in the upper 90s then.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION FIVE HAS FORMED
A new tropical depression has formed off the northeast coasts of South America. You can see that the computer models are going to drift this storm into the Caribbean by the start of next week. We'll have to see if this storm can make it all the way into the Gulf of Mexico...if it does, it won't be until the end of next week. Stay tuned.
