Dance Studio Director Arrested On Indecency With A Child Charges

DALLAS (CBSDFW) - The Dallas Police Department attempted to execute a search warrant on a man that was wanted on charges of Indecency with a Child.
The suspect, Van Gilbert, refused to exit his Dance Studio, resulting in SWAT being called to the scene. However, Gilbert eventually surrendered to authorities without incident.
An investigation into Gilbert began in August, 2015 after a 14-year-old male victim at the time of the offenses, told authorities that he was sexually abused by Gilbert.
The offenses allegedly occurred in 1997 when the victim was enrolled at Gilbert's dance studio, Mahogany Dance Theatre of Texas.
Gilbert is being held on a $100,000 bond for each charge.
