Dallas Zoo Welcomes Rare Somali Wild Ass Babies

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Zoo is welcoming a rare pair of animals for the first time in its history.

Half sisters "Kalila" And "Naima" are Somali Wild Asses, which are native to east Africa.

Born just ten days apart, the sweet donkey foals are Herbivores.

Currently there are only 600 of the critically endangered mammals remaining in Africa.

Their life expectancy is up to 40 years, giving North Texans plenty of time to pay them a welcome visit!
