DALLAS (CBS11) - The Dallas Zoo is mourning the death of its oldest resident who animal caretakers called, "quirky and charming."

Bon Bon the chimp passed away Sunday at the age of 57.

The zoo says her eyesight was nearly gone and she was barely mobile so they knew it was time to say goodbye.

Bon Bon was born at the zoo back in 1958.

The zoo says she loved to check out people's nail polish and new shoes.
