Dallas Woman Arrested For Credit Card Abuse, Used Children As Pickpockets

ADDISON (CBSDFW) - A woman has been arrested for using children as pickpockets in Addison earlier this year.

According to police, 59-year old Gail Denise Pratt was arrested in Dallas on charges of credit card abuse.

Police say she's been responsible for pickpocketing crimes in Addison and elsewhere in North Texas, using children to steal from purses.

Ed Martell, a spokesman for Addison Police, says surveillance video caught one incident in January.

Police do not know the relationship of Pratt to the little girls, but suspect they could be grandchildren.

Pratt was spotted at a Dallas post office earlier this month, and someone recognized her and called police.

The case has been taken over by the Dallas County District Attorney.
