After record-breaking weekend, North Texas faces another extreme heat warning for dangerous temperatures

Sunday was the hottest day of the year since 2023, with temperatures reaching 109 degrees at DFW Airport. And Monday will be another dangerously hot day; temperatures could reach 110 degrees, so an extreme heat warning is in effect until 9 p.m.

Winds will come from the southwest, gusting up to 20 mph at times, increasing fire danger across the area.

A shortwave will initiate a few showers on Tuesday morning, but by the afternoon, sunshine returns.

On Wednesday, a stalled front may pop up a shower or storm across North Texas, but most of the area is forecast to stay dry.

Intense heat and dry weather will be in the forecast through the weekend and into the next workweek. Stay hydrated.
