DPD officers shoot suspect while trying to execute a narcotics warrant in West Dallas, police say
Dallas SWAT officers shot and killed suspect in West Dallas on Friday morning, the Dallas Police Department said.
The officers were executing a drug-related warrant on Shaw Street near North Winnetka Avenue when a suspect pointed a gun at them, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said in a news conference. The suspect died at the scene.
Police have not yet identified him or provided more specifics about what charges the man was facing.
No officers were injured, Comeaux said.
The Dallas County District Attorney and the Office of Community Police Oversight are investigating.
