Dallas Police Officer Arrested for Assaulting Daughter
According to reports, 51-year-old Dallas Senior Corporal Alma Fowler may have been drunk when she struck her 18-year-old daughter. The report says the daughter locked herself in the family's Red Bird area home after she was hit, and when police arrived, they found Fowler passed out on the floor of the garage. Dallas police sergeant Warren Mitchell says this is disappointing. "When we hear that one of our officers have been arrested, it saddens us. We just feel like we have to act upon it like we would anybody else."
This isn't Fowler's first brush with the law. She was arrested for DWI in March of 2009, and has been on restrictive duty, assigned to the auto pound. There will be an Administrative Investigation as a result of Fowler's arrest.
