DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas police officer has been fired after allegedly pointing a gun at his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend last month in Famers Branch.
Authorities say 29-year-old Aaron Tolerton was fired Wednesday and faces possible charges in relation to the incident. In a protective order application, Tolerton's ex-girlfriend said she and her boyfriend were walking from the parking garage to her apartment when Tolerton stopped his car in front of them on March 28.
The document says Tolerton pointed a gun at the couple, but eventually put the weapon away and asked them to not call police. Farmers Branch police arrived at the scene and apprehended Tolerton, but then let him go.
Tolerton's chain of command recommended that he be fired, but Chief David Brown delayed the decision last week after a judge denied the protective orders.
A phone listing for Tolerton could not be found.
