DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police arrested a burglary suspect at a bar early Thursday, and the bar's owner actually helped authorities take the man into custody. The incident happened just before 2:30 a.m. at Heroes Lounge, located near the corner of Greenville Avenue and Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas.
According to officials, the bar owner was at home when his alarm company called him, saying that motion was detected inside of his business. The owner went there and found the suspect walking from the building's rear with one of the bar's televisions in his hands.
Police were called to the scene and the bar owner was able to hold the suspect there until officers arrived. Officials did not say how the owner kept the suspect at bay. The owner went to the Dallas Police Department's headquarters to talk with detectives.
Meanwhile, officers arrested 44-year-old Eddie Barrientos for burglary and took him to jail. Barrientos has a lengthy criminal history that includes previous charges for burglary, criminal mischief, aggravated assault of a police officer and evading arrest.
