Dallas-Area Blood Donations Clear Of West Nile
NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Carter Blood Care confirms that not a single blood donation in North Texas has tested positive for the West Nile Virus.
Some of the first indications of last summer's epidemic showed up in the local blood supply. The first case showed up on June 5, 2012 after a blood donor tested positive for potentionally lethal mosquito-borne virus.
Carter Blood Care reported seeing 40 cases of West Nile by the beginning of last August.
