Cowboys Playing With House Money

By Ben Rogers | @BenRogers

105.3 THE FAN -- If the Cowboys lose to the Seahawks today… so what?

They're supposed to lose to the Seahawks -- the Super Bowl champs -- on their home turf, where they'll probably make a run at setting the new decibel record. They don't lose there. Period.

However, if the Cowboys somehow beat the mighty Seahawks, it will make for one of the greatest October wins in franchise history. That said, Dallas has absolutely nothing to lose. They can play free, loose, and unencumbered by lofty expectations.

The truth is that the NFL is a parity party. All of the low-hanging clichés, such as 'any given Sunday', 'it's a game of inches', and 'throw the records out the window' truly do apply.

Each Sunday there are a new slew of head-scratcher results that no one saw coming. A bounce here, a turnover there, a helpful flag here, a broken play there. That's what makes football the best professional sport going. You never know until you get into the game and see how it unfolds.

Sure, there are plenty of indicators in play here to suggest that the Cowboys are in serious trouble today. But wouldn't it be just like the football gods to laugh in the face of those indicators and give Cowboys fans one for the ages?

We all know the answer to that, which is why we'll be on the edge of our seats for kickoff, ready for anything and everything.

Regardless of the outcome, we'll have plenty to dissect and discuss afterwards on the official Dallas Cowboys Postgame Show on 105.3 The Fan with me, Gavin "The General" Dawson, and former Cowboy wide receiver Jesse Holley.

Give me the team with nothing to lose by a nose… Cowboys 24, Seahawks 23.
