Cowboys Bring Back Moore & Release Smith
IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) -- With cornerback Morris Claiborne hurt yet again, the Dallas Cowboys are bringing back a familiar face. The team announced the signing of Sterling Moore on Monday.
Moore spent time with the Cowboys during training camp and will likely play against the Raiders on Thursday, the team's website reports. The SMU-graduate was released prior to the season when the team made its final cuts down to 53 players.
Moore will play in place of Claiborne, who injured his hamstring in the third quarter of Sunday's game in New York. Claiborne missed the previous two games with a similar injury.
To clear a spot on the roster, Dallas released tight end Andre Smith, who has been active in only three of 11 games in 2013.
