DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Hair products being shoved in a purse, a flat iron hidden inside of a waist band and the employees at Armstrong McCall diverted while it happened.
"She was off filling her purse while he was chatting, the sad thing is that they used the little girl kind of as a pawn," says Jane Levinski, Armstrong McCall store manager.
She remembers the man, woman and little girl as friendly. "They were in a couple of times, but they never bought anything," commented Levinski, "The third time that they came in my employee said, something is wrong."
Managers noticed that product was flying off the shelves, but it wasn't until they checked the cameras that they realized why.
"I was sick, you feel like a fool, because here you have chatted and been kind and they've robbed you blind," says Leninski.
Officer James McClellan of the Irving Police Department said the couple hit this Irving beauty store on three different occasions and for more than $1000. But it didn't stop there, it's believed that they hit 4 other cities and possibly 7 other stores dating back a year.
"There may be many more out there that we don't know about, "said McClellan.
They hope someone will come forward with information after seeing the video because they are concerned about the child's safety and behavior. Here, you can see the little girl taking products from the shelf and handing it to the woman.
